GUY CORLEONE
Bass Guitarist, THE FORERUNNER
My name is Guy Corleone. I’m from Arizona, but have lived in Nevada for most of my life, and have spent a few years in Missouri. While in Missouri, I started playing and listening to a lot of metal/metalcore. Bands like Once Nothing, As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive, Rose Funeral, and With Blood Comes Cleansing. Convinced I was going to be a guitar player, I moved back to Las Vegas, Nevada and soon after joined a shoe-gaze band called Luna Flore, where I started playing bass. Influenced by Whir, Slowdive, and My Bloody Valentine, we played shows for several years until we split apart. I joined a project a few years after called Huge In Japan, a rap/rock four piece. While in Huge, I started playing in a math rock three piece, later adding a guitar player, called Sans Pluto. Influenced by Enemies, Toe, and our guitarists years of experience. Huge and Sans were around for a few years a piece, and then suddenly ended. These bands solidified my role as a bass player. After a few years of playing bass for my Church, I started a band with a buddy of mine called Paper Dad. A four piece emo rock outfit influenced by bands like American Football, Free Throw, and Modest Mouse. While in Paper Dad, I was asked to play bass in The Forerunner, where you’ll see me playing bass and trying to keep my glasses on my face.
When I’m not on stage, I enjoy drawing, painting, and photography. I enjoy shooting and being outdoors. By far, the most important thing that I do outside of music is being a husband to my wonderful wife.
Some of my favorite bands include:
With Blood Comes Cleansing, Becoming The Archetype, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, This Will Destroy You, Enemies, Modest Mouse, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Norma Jean, Toe, Delta Sleep, Modern Baseball, Free Throw, In The Midst Of Lions, Impending Doom, Metallica, Saving Grace, The Postal Service, Waking Aida, Animals As Leaders, Hoops, A Plea For Purging, Feed Me Jack, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless, After The Burial, Their / They’re / There, This Town Needs Guns.
